A few people asked for a step by step ‘tutorial’ for the things I do and make with tape recorders and such. I guess this is part one; instead of all the rather complex set-ups I’ve shown before here is just a (three headed) tape recorder with an internal speaker and a mic.
The distance between the record and the playback head causes a short delay, because of this you get all kinds of repetitive patterns when you hold the mic near the speaker. Playing with this distance and tapping the mic a bit turns the little UHER portable recorder into a repetitive beat station.

this will be used as source material in upcoming instruction videos, I’ll try to post those on my channel every now and then.
