It is best to have any electrical project be FCC Part 15 compliant. Tube amplifiers are “unintended radiators” (FCC term for the device not being a transmitter). Also, having a shielded project box eliminates RF from getting into the circuit. Shielding a box requires that the metal shield (aluminum) be connected to an earth ground. Without the ground, the shield effectiveness may be minimal.
