An employee of a local business went to throw out some trash in the large trash compartment area that stores the trash dumpsters. They discovered an object that appeared to be several pipe bombs taped together. The NCPD was called and upon their arrival and inspection, they called out the SDSO’s Bomb & Arson Squad. Several local businesses were evacuated. The Bomb & Arson squad arrived and did their inspection, and rendered the area safe.
The object was 3 large metal cables wrapped in rubber insulation that someone taped with electrical tape to make it look like a pipe bomb. The businesses reopened soon thereafter.
