How To Stop Sweating AC Vents When There Isn't Anything Wrong With Your AC

Another one i had to figure out myself as the repair technician couldn’t fix it. On a properly functioning AC there is only one thing than can cause sweating, duh, condensation. Here’s the most likely culprits.

1. Evaporator / Air Handler Tape No Longer Sealing The Unit

2. Hot Humid Air Entering The Registers Boot From The Attic

3. Humid Air From Inside The House Forming Condensation On The Register.

Its a very easy fix. Simply get some real duct tape, go into the attic with the AC on and feel for cool air leaking out pretty badly, or lots of condensation on the stack above the blower. Buy plastic registers from the store to replace all of the nicer looking but poorly performing registers (vents). Make sure to tighten up the registers snug to keep the register and the boot clamped down together around the Sheetrock on the ceiling.
