In this video I will show you what you need as far as materials and tools to get the job done yourself. And I will walk you though how I did it.
The items I have used in this video are as follows:
5/8″X3-1/2″X6′ PINE DOG EAR PICKET (098168301794 Home Depot #)
Miter saw (or skill saw)
Sander
80 grit sand paper
Tape Measure
Speed Square
Pencil
Nail Gun
Air compressor
Trim nails
Wood glue
Wood filler
Caulking
Paint
Paint brush
Stud finder
Masking tape
Step 1. cut dog ear off boards
Step 2. Cut boards to length
Step 3. Cut 30 degree angle on two adjoining boards
Step 4. Sand boards on all sides
Step 5. Locate studs in wall
Step 6. Nail boards to wall
Step 7. Cover nail holes with wood putty
Step 8. Mask off any areas you do not want painted white
Step 9. After wood putty dries paint 2 coats of white paint on boards
Step 10. Peel off masking tape while paint is still wet
Step 11. After paint dries caulk all cracks and corners with white Caulking
Step 12. Touch up any areas that need attention
