FELIX tutorial – How to apply Kapton Foil

This video shows you how to apply Kapton Foil to the heated bed of a FELIX 3D printer. Kapton foil can be purchased from the FELIXprinters website.

Tips, Tricks and why to use FELIX Kapton:
- Use thicker kapton sheets of 0.15 mm or more thick, allowing easier application of the Kapton and also these thickness will last at least a couple of months of intensive printing instead of a few prints.

- Avoid fake Kapton, where only the top layer is Kapton and where Kapton is very thin.

- In some cases it is better to heatup the bed to 60 ℃ and then apply the Kapton.

- Before printing make sure the surface is clean of grease and debris. Best to use is methylated spirit. Other cleaning agents are aceton and highly concentrated alcohol.

- Glue adhesives are also a good alternative. Make sure to remove the bed or cover the machine parts when using spray like adhesives.
