A local auto repair shop had a job for SSF-6 brazing rod from http://MuggyWeld.com. Today it was an EGR Valve Tube that was eaten through by corrosion. The part was a day away and $100 to replace. One of the mechanics cleaned it with a wire wheel to remove all the contaminates before using the SSF-6 to seal the system. We had to tin the surface on both sides and then bridge the gap with the brazing rod. We worked our way around until the work area was completely closed. We weren’t going for a pretty repair just a functional job with no leaks.
