Although data scholarship has increased the capacity for discovery, concerns such as biased design, participation barriers, and dehumanization remain. Three presentations explore such concerns and propose solutions to this growing dilemma at the Library’s symposium, “Collections as Data: Stewardship and Use Models to Enhance Access.” “Documenting the Now Project,” “Engaging with Communities and API-Driven Accessioning of Digital Folklife” and “Deep-Fried Data.”
